Powerbox, one of Europe’s largest power supply companies and a leading force for four decades in optimizing power solutions for demanding applications, has announced a new range of high-voltage input DC/DC converters for microgrid, datacenters and industrial applications. Part of its industrial line, the new series of HVDC/DC converters operate with an input voltage range of 180VDC to 425VDC, and deliver output power levels from 150W to 750W. The range of applications powered by high-voltage DC supplies is rapidly expending, and from the latest microgrids and datacenters using high voltage DC (HVDC) bus voltages to reduce power losses through to industrial systems, all of these applications require ready to use, board-mounted power converters. Powerbox’s PQB-PHB-PFB300S series is specially designed for such applications. They are built around a high efficiency topology, have a layout optimized for thermal conduction, an input/output isolation of 3,000VAC minimum and deliver output voltages from 3.3VDC to 48VDC.

Designed to power subsea equipment such as gas and oil monitoring and control systems situated on the seafloor, fed from an AC or DC high voltage line feeder the PRBX VB410-380 power solution delivers 48V DC with very high reliability and resilience. The unit comprises a pre-stage converter and a secondary stage with redundant power modules and for monitoring and control, a full set of communications and interfaces.

Aimed at compact industrial systems applications with limited space, the ENI100 has a narrow width of 31.7mm and a length of 140mm making it easy to fit in even the smallest of places. The unit’s input voltage range is from 90 to 264VAC and the output delivers a fixed 24V at 4A. Based on Powerbox’s flyback topology and proprietary ’Always On’ regulation mode, the power supply intelligently ’self-controls’ its output behavior to guarantee continuous operation and quick recovery in the case of a load or temperature fault. The ENI100 is CB certificated according to EN60950-1.

Powerbox, one of Europe’s largest power supply companies and a leading force for four decades in optimizing power solutions for demanding applications, has introduced a 400W DC/DC converter for use in industrial automotive applications in extreme environments. Designed for free air convection cooling, the ENA400-M is packaged in an aluminum enclosure with built in heatsink and potted with heat conductive polyurethane to improving thermal dissipation. Ratified for IP67 operation and with a power efficiency of 95%, the DC/DC converter can be operated in ambient temperatures from -40 to +50 degrees C using free air convection. Suitable for 24V and 48V industrial bus voltages, the converter meets ISO7637-2 and EN12895. The ENA400-M’s high efficiency and highly optimized thermal design contribute to an increased lifetime in harsh environments.

Powerbox, one of Europe’s largest power supply companies and a leading force for four decades in optimizing power solutions for demanding applications, has announced the release of its new coreless technology platform to power medical and industrial equipment operating in very high magnetic field environments such as magnetic resonance imaging or particle accelerators. Using the latest technology in high-frequency switching topologies and digital control with proprietary firmware to optimize efficiency and voltage regulation, Powerbox’s GB350 buck-converter module is the first building block in its category that is able to operate safely when exposed to high radiation magnetic fields of 2 to 4 Tesla. GB350 delivers an output power of 350W and when higher power levels are required it can be paralleled using an interleaving mode thus reducing EMI.

Designed to meet new market requirements for intelligent and flexible charging solutions for automotive and industrial demanding applications, the ENA200-Charger includes the latest technologies for intelligent charging. Part of the “One package to fit all“ program developed with our customers, the ENA200-Charger fits into the same IP21 packaging as the isolated DC/DC converters ENA100 and ENA200. The ENA200-Charger includes a micro-controller with very advanced firmware to guarantee optimum charging and longer battery life-time. The unit includes pre-defined charging algorithms for standard Lead Acid, Absorbed Glass Matte (AGM), Gel Cell and Calcium, though application-defined profiles can be uploaded at the Powerbox configuration center to meet customer’s specific application. The ENA200-Charger includes load temperature monitoring and intelligent spark control. The ENA200-Charger is available in two input voltages for 12V and 24V systems, delivering smart adjusted voltage for 12V batteries with up to 15A charging current and peak power up to 216W. For safety, the unit provides galvanic isolation of 500VDC (input/output/case).

With an unprecedented extra wide input of 12:1 (14V to 160V) the PQB50U-72S delivers 50W in quarter brick packaging, bringing simplicity to power designers addressing EN50155 applications (one unit covering all bus voltages). In full brick packaging, the PFB600W-110S delivers industry’s first 600W unit within a 4:1 input voltage range of 43V to 160V, accommodating 72V, 96V and 110V bus voltages. Both products can be operated from -40°C up to +100°C case temperature, matching very demanding and ruggedized requirements such as in construction vehicles, mining equipment & heavy machinery process control.

Based on a highly integrated components platform and low-profile planar magnetics the new series ENA100 (100W) and ENA200 (200W) are packaged in a plastic enclosure, which is IP21 and the boards are conformal coated to withstand high humidity, complying with the challenging environments found in the automotive industry. To guarantee the highest levels of efficiency and reliability, the ENA100 and ENA 200 power stage uses specific components selected for robustness and high-reliability data and operated within a safe-band area. The series comes with galvanic isolation of 500VDC and built-in protections and filtering, making products ready to use without additional components.
